   mob wars choose your sideIn the city that never sleeps, there is a war going on not many know about. The police have heard stories, even have circumstantial evidence, but nothing solid. With shoppers bustling about in and out of department stores, and tourists snapping photographs, they are none the wiser to the very real, very dangerous underground of New York City.
For generations, the Italian mafia ran the streets of New York. They were considered the most ruthless and feared crime families in the tri-state area. The Irish were considered nothing but a bunch of ragamuffins, chomping at the bit for something bigger and better than what they had. In the late 1970's, the DA of the time began to buckle down on the crime in the city, and fearing that they couldn't successfully run their business with that kind of scrutiny, they moved their operations to Miami.
In their absence, the Irish established themselves as an even greater adversary than the Italians every expected. They were tougher, meaner, less willing to compromise than the Italians. They were feared, and rightly so. The police knew better than to even attempt to touch them, and that went beyond the few police who lined their pockets with Irish money.
Now that the Italians are back for their territory, with no intention of taking "no" for an answer, the streets of New York have run red with blood spilled on both sides. The return of the Italians hasn't sat well with the Irish, who have been running the streets successfully for the past two decades. A brutal territory war has broken out, with no end in sight.
